Win big during the 5th Annual Big Boy Big Wheel Race

SIDNEY, Neb. — Listeners and viewers of the chaotic Big Boy Big Wheel Race competition can win big if they choose the right racer with Pedalers Corner, M2 Synthetics, Beans & Steams Coffeehouse and Cabela’s Furniture.
The 5th annual race, set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, sends 10 contestants down the 2.84-mile Deadwood Trail, starting at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds and finishing at the soccer fields at Deer Run Park in Sidney.
Racers face off on pedal-powered trikes, battling each other — usually with a few surprise obstacles — for glory and a shot at the coveted Big Boy Big Wheel championship belt.
This year’s field is packed with newcomers and returning favorites.
Hunter Arterburn, a two-time champion and last year’s winner, is back to defend his title following a controversial win in 2024. He’ll be challenged by last year's runner-up Tara Gray and fan favorite Coop-a-Loop.
Husband-and-wife duo Cassie and Morgan Haupt will compete for the first time, as will Regan Hinton - representing the brains of West Elementary. Alex Fisher seeks revenge from last year's race, and Neal Reeves, BJ Juelfs and Erika Revord take the starting line for the first time.
Notably absent from this year’s race is Sarah Sinnett — the only competitor ever disqualified in the event’s history after using a motorized big wheel in 2024. Sinnett had challenged Arterburn to a rematch earlier this spring, but an unrelated injury will keep her on the sidelines this year.
You can pick your favorite rider online at thebigboy987.com through Tuesday, May 6. Those who correctly predict the winner will be entered into a drawing to win a Rambo Rooster E-Bike from Pedalers Corner.
