BEATRICE – Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Pius the Tenth were the class A and B winners of the Beatrice Golf Invitational held at Beatrice Country Club, Monday. 

Southeast shot a team total of 307 to finish seven shots in front of Creighton Prep.   Lincoln East was another six shots back in the class A field of nine teams.

Pius the Tenth won the class B team title with a 324…..four shots in front of Gretna East and five in front of Bennington.  Fourteen Class B teams competed.

Individually, Thomas Bryson of Lincoln Southeast won the class A title with an even-par round of 72…with Lincoln Southwest’s Ben Kottmeyer a shot back, with a 73.  Tommy Kelley of Creighton Prep shot 74 and Mike Elgert of Southeast, a 75.  Ten class-A golfers shot in the 70s on a windy day at B.C.C.

In Class B, Gretna’s Will Barth was the individual winner, with a 77.  Henry Stempson of Lincoln Pius the Tenth and Brady Nichols of Bennington each shot a 78, while Cale Baker of Norris shot a 79.

For the Beatrice Orangemen, the team shot a total score of 371 to finish 10th in the Class B standings.  Harrison Vetrovsky led Beatrice with an 88.
