SIDNEY, Neb. – The rematch is on.

After a week of escalating trash talk, rhymed threats and even a stolen trophy, 987 The Big Boy's Hunter Arterburn officially accepted Sarah Sinnett’s challenge for a second showdown in the Big Boy Big Wheel Race. Arterburn won last year's race. Sinnett was the first racer ever disqualified from the annual competition due to making modifications to her big wheel trike (using a motorized trike).

The decision for a rematch this year comes after Sinnett, of Sidney, released a video saying she stole the race championship trophy from Arterburn's studios and issuing a list of demands to reclaim it. Arterburn responded with a fiery, WWE-style promo released Tuesday morning in which he declared, “we don’t negotiate with trophy-stealing terrorists.”

In the video, filmed in a dark room under a single lightbulb, Arterburn torched Sinnett’s ransom note and unveiled a brand-new championship belt that will go to this year's winner.

With the trophy in limbo, the stage is set for a spring rematch in Sidney on Wednesday, May 7 with eight other riders. Listeners of the radio station won’t just be spectators, they’ll have a chance to win a Rambo Rooster E-Bike from Pedalers Corner by choosing who they think will win the race.

Full race details, including how to win and the 2025 race lineup, will be announced Monday morning on The Big Boy.
