Kimball Fitness Center opens yoga class to entire community

KIMBALL -- The yoga class offered at the Kimball Fitness Center is now open to anyone – no membership needed.
The Fitness Center began offering a group yoga class in February after receiving interest from gym members and those around the community.
“There was a demand for [a group fitness class],” said Kimball Fitness Center Owner Shane Hays. “We have a comment box and that is one thing that has always been a request of our members, and yoga was the most requested.”
Hays added that he wanted to offer a group fitness class to attract more members and to get the community involved and be able to see what the gym has to offer.
There has been interest in having access to other group fitness classes as well, which the center hopes to offer in the future.
“We’re open to offering more group fitness classes in the event we have an instructor,” Hays said.
The yoga class was originally only open to members of the gym. The management decided to extend the offer to the whole community because there has been a good turnout so far and more community members have shown interest in joining.
The cost for members is $12 per week or $40 per month. For non-members, it costs $20 per week or $60 per month. Non-members are also required to bring their own mat to ensure availability.
The class is every Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
