BEATRICE, Neb. - The Philadelphia Eagles and center Cam Jurgens have agreed to a four-year contract extension.

The deal, which runs through 2029, is worth $68 million and includes $39.4 million guaranteed. The yearly $17-million average makes the Beatrice native the second highest paid center in the NFL, behind only Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey. Jurgens was entering what would have been the final year of his rookie deal.

Jurgens wrapped up his first year as the Eagles full-time starting center in replacement of Jason Kelce.

The former Husker earned his first career Pro Bowl invite en route to helping the Eagles become Super Bowl champions.
