GOTHENBURG – Several Panhandle athletes made waves Thursday at the Dutch Zorn Invite in Gothenburg.

Sidney’s Lance Holly clocked a blistering 10.88 seconds to win the boys 100-meter dash, holding off Cozad’s Bryson Snider, who returned the favor by taking gold in the 200. Kash Knobbe also earned gold in high jump. Sidney’s Landon Riddle and Rhys Dorcey also reached the 100 finals, finishing third and seventh, respectively. Riddle also finished second in long jump. Alek Doty was second in discus. 

On the girls' side, Sidney's Reagan Nesbitt won discus and was fourth in shot put, Laramie Misegadis grabbed silver in the 100-meter dash, finishing just behind Aurora’s Reagan Ashby in the finals. In the 800 meters, Sidney junior Katie Dowse earned bronze.

In the field events, Scottsbluff had a strong showing across the board. Kinzley Hess (Scottsbluff) finished sixth in the 100 finals, while teammate Desmonde Smith earned points in both the 100 and 200. Scottsbluff’s boys also had solid finishes in the 800 and 1600, with Jacob Maser and Mason Middledorf both earning top-six finishes.

Ogallala’s Story Rasby continued her standout season, winning both the 400 and 800, while Holdrege’s Emily Stutzman took home the title in the girls 1600.
