Batter up! Kohler Complex expansion a win for Norfolk youth sports
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk just leveled up its game! The city and local schools are teaming up to supercharge youth sports, unveiling an expanded Kholer softball complex at Ta-Ha Zouka Park. Get ready for more action, more players, and a whole lot more fun.
"This room splits from a locker room into batting cages," said Norfolk Parks and Recreation Director Nathan Powell. "We can also take the batting cages down, split it up and have home and away locker rooms. This will also be used for our teams and clubs in the community. They can use it as their practice facility due to their agreement with the city of Norfolk."
"It is also doesn't matter what your income levels are or what sport you play. We will open this up for our soccer programs, softball programs and our youth baseball programs as well. So, it's important that we have facilities like this and we provide that equal access to everybody."
The project in total cost 1.6 million dollars and was made possible thanks to generous donations from the Jack B. Kohler estate, Norfolk public schools, Northeast community college, and the city of Norfolk.
