Kearney to begin rehab project on 30th Ave. overpass
KEARNEY, Neb. - A major overpass in Central Nebraska is set to receive a makeover starting next week.
Crews from the public works department in Kearney will begin phase one of a rehabilitation project on the 30th Avenue overpass starting Monday.
The first phase will focus on repairs to the sidewalks on both ends of the overpass, as well as wall repairs at ground level outside the structure.
The pedestrian sidewalk on the overpass, along with the hiking and biking trail at ground level near North Railroad Street will be closed for the duration of the project.
Officials say vehicle traffic will not be affected and that the project will take seven to eight weeks to complete.
The overall project will continue throughout the 2025 construction season.
