Update 4/3 5:35 p.m. : Hastings Police say the victim is a woman. Medical personnel transported her to a hospital outside of Hastings to receive care for her injuries. Police cited the male driver of the pickup for careless driving.

HASTINGS, Neb. – One person was hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle in a grocery store parking lot Thursday afternoon. 

First responders arrived on scene near the entrance of Russ's Market in Hastings just before 1:30 p.m.

An NCN reporter observed the victim being attended to by Hastings Fire and Rescue on the ground in front of a red pickup, which was facing southbound.

Paramedics were treating the person on the ground for at least 10 minutes before they were loaded onto a stretcher. 

An ambulance transported the victim to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Afterward, Russ's Market employees were observed cleaning the concrete area with chemicals.

Authorities were not able to provide further information at this time. 

At least one fire truck, one ambulance, and four police cruisers were at the scene.
