Biggest sports facility from Lincoln to Denver set to open in Kearney
KEARNEY, Neb. - It's almost game time for a new state-of-the-art athletic facility in Central Nebraska.
The Kearney SportsPlex is hosting an open house this weekend in preparation for both Monday's grand opening and next Thursday's ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new facility will be the biggest of its kind from Lincoln to Denver and features a 66,000 square-foot indoor turf field and a 59,000 square-foot hardwood court space. This is in addition to four pickle ball courts and a 300-meter indoor track.
The open house event lasts from 9 am to 6 pm this Saturday where visitors can explore and test out the new building.
The facility opens for normal operating hours starting Monday, where hourly rentals and scheduled drop-in play begins, along with free public access to the running/walking track.
The SportsPlex will have its official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony April 10 at 5 pm.
