Omaha Westside holds off upset to advance to Class A title game
The Warriors beat Lincoln Southeast 56-52
By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN - Omaha Westside scrapped their way to a win over Lincoln Southeast in the Class A semifinals.
The Warriors 56-52 win featured a Herculean effort from freshman Lee Robinson, who returned in the 4th quarter after suffering a tailbone injury in the first half and turned in some clutch plays, including a jumper in the lane after Southeast had trimmed the lead to four points late in the game.
The Knights used an 11-4 run to take a one-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Westside made five of their last six shots to pull away.
The Warriors advance to their first title game in eleven years, where they'll face top-seed Papillion-La Vista South, while Lincoln Public Schools' title-game drought now stretches to 16 straight years.
