The post, which has been widely shared, claims a 10-year-old boy approached a 2-year-old girl and attempted to take her to the bathroom before being confronted by a witness. The boy then reportedly ran away.
Sidney police are actively pursuing leads and gathering statements to determine the facts of the incident. They encourage anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant information to contact the department to assist in the investigation.
“We are actively pursuing all available leads to ensure a thorough and expedient resolution,” Chief Sam Lovato told News Channel Nebraska. “An investigation has been initiated. We are currently in the process of retrieving video footage from the park.”
