Offense struggles, Huskers fall to Michigan 49-46
LINCOLN, Neb. - Putting up their lowest scoring total of the season, Nebraska drops to 17-11 on the year, falling to #15 Michigan 49-46 on Monday night.
Brice Williams scored a game high 26, making up over half of Nebraska's offense. While Williams shot 9-21 from the field, the rest of the team shot 9-41 making up a 25.8% night from the field for the Huskers.
Despite the struggles offensively, Fred Hoiberg pointed out Nebraska's energy on defense as a positive, holding Michigan to below 50 points.
"It is not easy to continue to battle and defend and keep yourself in the game on the other end, but our guys did that," Hoiberg said. "If we have that fight these next three games, we're going to be fine and we will be playing in the postseason. Offensively, yes, we have to be better, and I think we will be better, but that defensive intensity and edge we had tonight has to continue."
Nebraska hosts Minnesota at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
