LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska Men's Basketball has turned its season on its head in a matter of weeks.

Despite a mid-season slump, having dropped six straight, the Huskers have turned it around, having won four in a row including two wins against Top 25 opponents, putting themselves squarely in the mix of the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Head Coach Fred Hoiberg credits defensive intensity and execution late in games to recent success.

"We're playing with a swagger again and with an intensity on the defensive end which was why we were good early in the season," Hoiberg said. "I think you have to have overall consistency in this league, I think we have, and it's about executing in your late game stuff and I think our guys have done an excellent job of that during this four game winning streak."

During the four game stretch, Nebraska's been led by Brice Williams who's averaging 19.4 points per game, but an impressive 26 per game since the Huskers began their winning streak.

Fred Hoiberg did note that starting post Berke Buyuktuncel will miss Thursday's matchup with Maryland due to an ankle injury, but says Buyuktuncel is "progressing well" and is day-to-day.

Nebraska hosts #25 Maryland on Thursday night, looking for their fourth Top 25 win of the year. Tip of is set for 7:30 CT on BTN.
