Syracuse Secures Home Split with Auburn

SYRACUSE, NE - As heard on B103, the Rockets picked up a solid win over the Bulldogs in girls hoops action Tuesday before the Auburn guys responded with a hard-fought victory over Syracuse in the guys' game.
In the opener, Syracuse ran off with a 54-19 win. Natalee Wemhoff led the home team with four treys and 20 points, while Jayden Meyer helped the cause with 16. Ariale Franke hit for ten points to lead Auburn. Syracuse is now 10-11 on the season, while Auburn sits at 4-17.
Game two saw the Auburn guys hold off a persistent Syracuse squad for a 61-47 win. Nolan Gardner was a handful, dropping in 25 points for the Bulldogs. Brenton Wenzl knocked down another 15 for Auburn, while Hudson Emshoff added a dozen, thanks to four triples. The Rockets had two players reach double digits - Will Janssen (14) & Maxwell Parde (11). Syracuse dipped to 12-9 with the loss, while Auburn is at 17-3.
Auburn's squads visit Lincoln Lutheran on Thursday, while Syracuse will play a pair at Conestoga on Friday.
