COLUMBUS, Neb. -- The Loup Power District announced on Tuesday there will be a new President/CEO effective at the start of 2026.

LPD Board of Directors said Korey Hobza has been appointed to take over following Neal Suess' retirement at the end of the year.

The Board made the announcement at its January meeting.

Board Chairman Jim Donoghue said Hobza will be a great leader for Loup Power District.

“Korey’s a valued employee and we’re excited to work with him as CEO starting next year,” Donoghue said.

Hobza has served as Loup’s Vice President of Engineering since 2020.

Suess announced his retirement plans last year, and the Board started looking for his replacement soon after to make sure there was enough time for adequate training.

“I’m looking forward to working with Korey over the next few months as we make this transition,” Suess said. “Although there is much to do and many ongoing activities, Korey’s knowledge and understanding of the District’s system will make the transition smoother for all.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from Neal who has more than 20 years of experience,” Hobza said. “His depth of knowledge will be a great resource as I prepare to take on this new role at Loup Power District.”
