Titans Take Two Wins Over Pawnee City in Humboldt
HUMBOLDT, NE - The Titans of Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer swept a basketball doubleheader on Tuesday against visiting Pawnee City, as heard on B103. The HTRS ladies dominated the opener, 69-21, while the guys' game was a much tighter 50-46 win for the Titans.
In the girls' contest, HTRS drained ten treys, while PC didn't connect once in a 69-21 decision. The Titans were led by Lillian Bowen's 21 points, while Elie Bstandig hit for 15. The Indians got seven points from Kinsley Benson. The Titan ladies are now at 7-7 on the season, while the Indian girls are at 4-9.
For the guys, both teams hit just two three-balls, but HTRS was 8/18 at the free throw line, while PC hit a mere 2/10 in the 50-46 win for the Titans. Emmett Glathar led HTRS with 18, while Brogan Dunlap put in eleven. The Indians had three players reach double digit points: Anthony Kling with 15, Jett Farwell at eleven, and Tyler Tegtmeier with ten. The HTRS boys moved their mark to 9-5 this season, while PC slid to 7-4.
Next up for Pawnee City is a home doubleheader against Falls City-Sacred Heart on Friday, while HTRS will visit Johnson County Central for a pair of Thursday contests.
