NEBRASKA -- Nebraska is among the states announcing a settlement with generic drug companies over price fixing allegations.

Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced the settlement on Friday.

The state is one of the 46 states involved in the lawsuit against Heritage Pharmaceuticals and Apotex.

The suit alleged the companies engaged in widespread. long-running conspiracies to artificially inflate prices for generic prescription drugs.

The settlement comes following an investigation that began in 2016.

The companies have agreed to cooperate with other ongoing litigation and agreed to internal reviews of their pricing strategies.
