LINCOLN - The 105th football game between rivals Columbus and Fremont may have been the most special.

The two teams took advantage of Nebraska's Friday night football game to claim the turf at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The competitiveness of the game matched the iconic setting.

The defenses controlled the first half and Fremont (2-2) led 7-0 at the break.

Columbus (2-2) trailed 21-14 late in the fourth quarter. Michael Voichoskie tied it up with a touchdown run with about 1:30 left to tie it up and force overtime.

The Discoverers scored first in OT. The Tigers responded with a touchdown and elected to go for two to win the game. Columbus tracked down Fremont's swing pass and made the stop to secure the win.
