LINCOLN - Columbus and Fremont will play the 105th meeting of the historic F&C Cup, Highway 30 rivalry at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Originally scheduled to be played in Fremont, the two squads will face off in a stand-alone game at the home of the Huskers. This is the same week that Nebraska hosts Illinois on Friday night. Columbus head coach Craig Williams announced the new venue on social media.

According to preliminary research, the last time regular season high school football games were played at Memorial Stadium was in 2017. Fremont was a part of that doubleheader playing Lincoln Northeast. Additionally, the 11-man and 8-man state championships have been held annually at Memorial Stadium since 1996.

Fremont leads the series 49-45-2 over the Discoverers. Columbus has won the last four meetings including a 31-7 win in week 0 last season. The game will kick off at noon and more information will be released as game day approaches.
