Nebraska publishes 2024 fishing guide

LINCOLN - Nebraska Game and Parks has published a new “Going Fishing” guide at digital.outdoornebraska.gov.

The guide includes equipment, knot tying, fish anatomy, regulations and ethics.

Fishing tips include thinking about food, oxygen and shelter when locating fish and attracting fish with lures that mimic natural colors and smelly baits. Fish can hear so anglers might trying being quiet and resting lures for 10 seconds before starting to retrieve them.

Game and Parks recommends keeping a fishing journal with times, colors and conditions when fish are biting.
