KEARNEY, Neb. — Authorities in Central Nebraska are looking for a Kearney man they say assaulted a woman until she was unconscious.

Kearney Police say it happened between 6:15 and 8:30 Wednesday morning. According to a news release, officers responded to a call about the assault around 9:00. An ambulance transported the victim, a 37-year-old woman, to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say 37-year-old Justin Hadenfeldt entered the home and assaulted the woman in front of her two young children, leaving her unconscious. He left and was last known to be driving a black 2014 Chevy Silverado with Nebraska Farm License Plate 9-2561R.

Police are actively searching for Hadenfeldt. He is wanted for first-degree assault, strangulation and burglary.
