GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A central Nebraska woman is now in jail after police say she kicked an officer.

According to Grand Island Police, officers were patrolling the area around 1404 W 2nd street near a Casey’s gas station on Saturday around 1:45. They saw a woman outside the store crying and yelling.

Officers made contact with the woman, whom they recognized from prior incidents, and identified her as 26-year-old Maresy Rabanales Estrada.

Officials say Rabaneles Estrada smelled of alcohol and was stumbling. They said they told her multiple times to sit down and not touch them. Rabanales Estrada ignored the officers' command and kicked one of the officers.

Officers proceeded to arrest her. She was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and obstructing the police.
