DAVID CITY, Neb. -- One person is dead following an incident with law enforcement in eastern Nebraska.

It happened Tuesday in David City.

Officials with the Nebraska State Patrol tell us deputies with the Butler County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a person with a gun suffering a mental health crisis.

The Patrol says law enforcement attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the man died after what's being called a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The death is considered in-custody, so the State Patrol will be investigating the incident.
