COLUMBUS - For the seventh time in eight seasons, the Scotus Shamrocks are again on top of the Columbus Holiday Tournament after defeating Lakeview 49-34.

The matchup between the Shamrocks and the Vikings on Saturday night was the third straight year both teams have reached the final. The Scotus win also makes it the fourth straight Columbus Holiday Tournament title.

In a fairly tight game early, the two rivals found success scoring, but it was the Shamrock defense that helped its offense find more opportunities.

Scotus held the lead at halftime and never looked back en route to the 15-point victory.

The Shamrock's Owen Lindhorst led all players with 14 points, followed by Max Wemhoff with 10 and Cohen Pelan scoring 8.

Blake Rathbone led the way for Lakeview with 7 points. Jacob Dawson and Clayton Thompson both finished with 6.

The win moves Scotus above .500 at 5-4, while Lakeview drops just under the margin at 4-5.
