COLUMBUS - The rivalry between Scotus and Lakeview is the gift that keeps on giving.

And for Scotus, the Shamrocks received a belated Christmas gift after taking down the Columbus Lakeview Vikings 56-26 in the 42nd Annual Columbus Holiday Tournament.

The Shamrocks and the Vikings have battled in the Columbus Holiday Tournament Championship game in ten out of the last eleven tournaments, and this year, it was all Scotus.

The Shamrocks got off to a big start and never looked back against their rival.

Joanna Rusher was an impressive performer for the Shamrocks, leading all scorers with 16 points. Mallory Dreesen added in 11 points and Sofia Karges with 9.

In the Vikings defeat, Kenzie Greisen and Hadley Hornung had solid outings with 6 points each. Kiara Kula and Taylor Greisen both added 5 points.

Scotus has now defeated Lakeview in 8 out of the last 10 Columbus Holiday Tournament Championship games.

The win improves Scotus' record to 6-4 and will face St Paul on Tuesday, while Columbus Lakeview falls to 2-7. The Vikings take on Douglas County West on Thursday.
