LINCOLN, Neb. -- Sandhills/Thedford won the D2 State Championship off of a record-breaking performance by quarterback Kyle Cox.  

The Knights defeated the Wynot Blue Devils 50-12 in the D2 final to claim the first championship the team has had since becoming a coop. 

Sandhills/Thedford was led by quarterback Kyle Cox who accounted for 486 of the 493 yards in the rushing game, which was a state playoff record. 

Wynot was led by their quarterback Dylan Heine who passed for 127 yards with a touchdown pass.
