LINCOLN, Neb - Nebraska picked up their first win of the year on Saturday night, topping Northern Illinois 35-11. 

Kearney native Heinirch Haarberg made his first career start at quarterback, filling in for Jeff Sims who dealt with an ankle injury all week. In his first start Haarberg went 14-for-24, for 158 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 21 times for 98 yards and a score. 

Defensively, Nebraska held NIU to just 149 yards, the fewest an opponent as put up since 2010.
