COLUMBUS, Neb. -- A Nebraska school district has suspended a teacher over a post that's been circulating social media.

Columbus Public Schools said in a statement Wednesday morning that they've placed a staff member on administrative leave.

This suspension stemmed from comments the District says were made on social media sites.

The District did no name the staff member and declined to comment further, but a post by a Columbus teacher to a Facebook page that circulated online made comments about students and illegal immigration.

The District did say the comments of the staff member do not reflect those of Columbus Public Schools.
