TARNOV, Neb. -- The Village of Tarnov held their Fall Festival on Sunday, as well as the 80th Anniversary of the Tarnov bombing.

During the event on Sunday, they had two historic military planes flyover Tarnov to commemorate the bombing.

In 1943 there were two U.S. Army Air Force bombers on a night training mission, and they dropped practice bombs on Tarnov in the middle of the night.

There were a total of six bombs dropped, but only one bomb hit a house. No one was injured during the practice bombing.

Also during the celebration, the village honored two veterans, Bill Shemek and Flip Shemek, who were both presented with Quilts of Valor.
