COLUMBUS, Neb. -- The Choices Treatment Center announced their opening and where they will be located in Columbus.

The Choices Treatment Center, outpatient treatment office, will be initially located inside of the Colegrove Counseling Center at 1460 35th Ave.

Education and Outreach Coordinator Mike Sciandra, from the Lincoln office, said that the initial focus of the treatment services offered by the center will be problem gambling treatment.

Choices is affiliated with the Nebraska Gamblers Assistance Program, providing free outpatient problem gambling treatment services for Nebraska who are struggling with problem gambling and their loved ones, including no-cost assessment, consultations, and interventions.

There will be counseling services available for both the person gambling and their family members.

Sciandra said the Choices' Columbus location will be in addition to the original office that is located in Lincoln.

"As in-person and online gambling options continue to increase throughout Nebraska and beyond, the need for problem gambling treatment services continues to evolve and grow," said Deb Hammond, director of Choices Treatment Center. "We are proud to offer our services to the Columbus community and surrounding area and hope to assist individuals needing support throughout eastern and central Nebraska."

If you are concerned you or someone you know has a gambling problem, Choices has a 24-hour helpline at 402-476-2300.
