COLUMBUS, Neb. -- The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce announced the king and queen to reign over Columbus Days Celebration. 

The Chamber of Commerce said Rick Chochon and Jaci Tessendorf have been chosen as Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand XLVIII for the upcoming Columbus Days Celebration on Aug. 10 to 13. 

These exceptional individuals have been handpicked for their outstanding service and significant contributions to the Columbus community.

Get ready to witness their regal presence throughout the year, as they grace various Columbus community events and festivities, leaving an indelible mark on the city's cherished traditions.

Tessendorf and Chochon both have extensive involvement in the community of Columbus but as Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand, they will have the opportunity to make special appearances at different events in the community. 

The two will judge the pet and baby contest, wave to the community during the traditional Columbus Days Sunday Parade, and make special appearances throughout the year.

The Columbus Days Coronation event will be on Monday, Aug. 7, at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center.  The evening will start with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The main event will be the grand Coronation celebration.
