COLUMBUS, Neb. -- Authorities in Columbus said that they have arrested a 16-year-old for their alleged involvement with an armed robbery in February.

The Columbus Police Department said they arrested a 16-year-old male on June 23 for allegedly being part of an armed robbery that happened Feb. 5 at Corner Stop in Columbus.

CPD Capt. Doug Molczyk said the name of the suspect will not be released at this time because he is a minor.

The incident happened around midnight Feb. 5, at which time Molczyk said a man armed with a semiautomatic pistol entered the Corner Stop and ordered the employee to give him money from the register.

According to Molczyk, the masked suspect put the money in the backpack and ran northwest from the scene on foot.

There were no injuries reported.
