OMAHA, Neb. -- Numerous records fell on Thursday at the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships at Burke Stadium in Omaha.

Berlyn Schutz of Lincoln East claimed victories in the Class A girls 800 meter and 1600 meter runs.

New records were set in both the Class A and Class B boys 4x100 meter relay, with Creighton Prep and Waverly claiming the crowns.

Ethan Baessler of Blair swept the Class B boys 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, setting a new record in the 100 meters. He also anchored the eighth-place 4x100 meter relay and the second-place 4x400 meter relay for the Bears.

Kate Campos swept the 100 meter high hurdles and 300 meter low hurdles for Pius in the Class A girls, winning the former by 0.01 seconds.

Bennington's Kennedy Wade swept the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, setting records in both.

Chloe Ahrens won both hurdles events in Class B for the Sidney girls.

Creighton Prep claimed the Class A boys team crown, while Waverly ran away with the Class B boys crown. Norris coasted to a comfortable Class B girls team victory, while Papillion-La Vista South clinched its first ever track and field team championship on the final event.
