City Public Works Department announces upcoming road closure
The City of Columbus has announced that the northbound entrance into Wagner’s Lake, Cottonwood Drive, and the southbound exit on Cottonwood Drive will be closed later this week.
By News Channel NebraskaCOLUMBUS, Neb. -- The City of Columbus has announced that the northbound entrance into Wagner’s Lake, Cottonwood Drive, and the southbound exit on Cottonwood Drive will be closed later this week.
The roads will be closed starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 26th and not reopen until later Friday afternoon, April 28th, for sewer main work, according to Public Works Director Chuck Sliva.
“The work is being done by a private contractor tying in a sewer service to the sewer City main at that intersection,” Sliva said.
Motorists are encouraged to use Lakeshore Drive to enter and exit the lake area.
Drivers and pedestrians are also encouraged to use extreme caution around the area
