Fourth Ward Columbus City Council seat filled

The mayor of Columbus announced that the Fourth Ward Columbus City Council seat has been filled.

COLUMBUS, Neb. -- The mayor of Columbus announced that the Fourth Ward Columbus City Council seat has been filled.

Mayor Jim Bukley said he appointed Hope Freshour to the Fourth Ward Columbus City Council seat that was vacated by John Lohr.

Freshour will fill the remainder of Lohr’s term, which lasts through November 2024. Freshour is the executive director of the Columbus Area United Way.

Bukley said he appreciates all of the applications and he hopes they consider running for other boards and commissions. 

Freshour will be introduced at the March 6 Columbus City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1369 25th Ave.
