A look at how Tuesday's snowstorm affected Nebraska

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The snowfall lasted just a short period of time, but Nebraska got a glimpse of what might be down the road later this winter.

The Panhandle got hit the hardest, with Gering getting approximately six inches of snow. Bridgeport received five-and-a-half inches. Mitchell had five inches.

In northeast Nebraska, places like Ponca and Hubbard got approximately three inches.

Central Nebraska avoided heavy snowfall for the most part, with most of the region getting approximately one to two inches.

The metro areas were relatively untouched, getting less than an inch of snow in Lincoln and Omaha, though OPPD customers did suffer outages due to wind on Tuesday.

The storm also had an effect on the 911 operations in Saunders, Platte and Butler Counties.
