Colfax County man sentenced to several years for sexual assault charge

SCHUYLER, Neb. -- A Colfax County man has been sentenced to serve up to 10 years for a sexual assault charge. 

Colfax County Attorney Bruce Prenda said that Denilson Martinez was sentenced on Wednesday to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services to serve a four-to-10-year sentence after being convicted of attempted first-degree sexual assault. 

It was reported that the conviction involved a 15-year-old victim. 

Martinez will have to comply with the Nebraska Sex Offender Registration Act when he is released from incarceration.
