32nd annual Genoa US Indian School Foundation Recognition and Remembrance Day

The town of Genoa is continuing to educate people and strengthen the ties to Native American cultural traditions.

GENOA, Neb. -- The town of Genoa is continuing to educate people and strengthen the ties to Native American cultural traditions. 

Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the Genoa U.S. Indian School Foundation are sponsoring the 32nd Annual Genoa US Indian School Foundation Recognition and Remembrance Day on August 13th. 

The activities begin at 10 a.m. at the Genoa Indian Museum and Interpretive Center located at 209 East Webster and at the St. Rose of Lima Community Center, located next to the center. 

The activities run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. including: tours of the Interpretive Center, a research center, Native American jewelry and crafts, history stations, and tours at the Genoa Historical Museum. 

The general public is encouraged to attend all these free activities and learn about this Federal Boarding School and the Native American students who attended here.
