COLUMBUS, Neb. -- Volunteer and Guest Services Director Angie Ramaekers recently won the Service Over Self award at Columbus Community Hospital.

The award encourages and celebrates volunteer activities, while recognizing those who volunteer in Columbus and the surrounding communities.

The Vice President of Business Development, Amy Blaser, nominated Ramaekers for her volunteer work with Once Upon a Prom Dress, an event that helps local high school students.

The event provides free prom dresses, shoes, and accessories to those who might not be able to afford it.

In her nomination letter, Blaser wrote, "Angie gives considerably of her time, talents and energy to make it all look so easy - so local high school girls can have the prom night of their dreams. This special program was created by a special person, we are so lucky to call our own."

Ramaekers received the award on Wednesday, July 6th.
