SIDNEY -- The Sidney Park Project announced on social media that weather related delays has caused their contractor to be behind schedule.

The Park Project stated on Facebook although they were set to begin construction on April 18th, as of Saturday May 28th, they are still waiting on the contractor. The cause of the delays are mainly weather, not specifically at the Park Project but on other projects ahead of the SPP.

In the meantime, the Park Project stated they have been busy coordinating with local contractors and trying to get as much done ahead of time as possible to keep the park timeline intact.

According to the SPP, the equipment was removed and the ground was leveled.

Park Project Construction Team Member, Jeremy Lee and others are digging the site down nine inches to prepare for equipment installation.

The Park Project said they apologize for the delay, and they have been waiting patiently for the contractor.

"The goal is opening by the 4th of July or as close to this date as possible. Please remember everyone is doing their best to meet this deadline," Sidney Park Project said. "We are hoping for the best weather possible and smooth installation."

The Park Project asks the public to stay out of the construction site to prevent any further delay from disruption of installation or concrete work.

According to SPP, there are cameras set up and monitored closely at the construction site.
