Woman's body found in Ernst Lake

Authorities discovered a body in a lake in Platte Valley area Monday.

COLUMBUS, Neb. -- Authorities discovered a body in a lake in Platte Valley area Monday.

Polk County Sheriff's Office sent out a press release saying that around 7:00 p.m. boaters on Ernst Lake found a body in the water. 

Polk County Sheriff's Office, Duncan Fire and Columbus Fire and Rescue all responded to the scene. 

Officials said that the body was recovered from the lake a short time later. 

Authorities said that the victim was identified as Kellie Allen of Ernst Lake. 

This is an ongoing investigation. Polk County Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig said that they are waiting for autopsy results for this case.
