Large wildfire near North Bend contained early Monday morning

Multiple fire departments were summoned to an early-morning fire in eastern Nebraska on Monday.

NORTH BEND, Neb. -- Multiple fire departments were summoned to an early-morning fire in eastern Nebraska on Monday.

Several families were evacuated from their residences after calls of a large wildfire three miles west of North Bend.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, fire units from North Bend, Morse Bluff, Fremont Rural, Schuyler and Prague were call on the scene.

Flames were visible from North Bend, according to responders on the scene.

The fire was contained to the south side of the railroad tracks near North Bend and eventually extinguished.

Authorities were advising to use caution in the area.

Fire risk remain high across the state, with numerous red flag warnings in effect.
