Columbus Community Hospital has named Ashley Carlson the new practice manager of Columbus Cancer Care.
(COLUMBUS, Neb.) – Columbus Community Hospital has named Ashley Carlson the new practice manager of Columbus Cancer Care. Carlson will begin her position on Monday, March 21. She will be responsible for overseeing the clinic’s staff and day-to-day operations and assisting in developing a comprehensive cancer center.
“I am looking forward to the vision of this project,” Carlson said. “Our patients deserve the very best, and having all the pieces come together under the same roof is essential for us to care for our community. The support, services, and expertise we offer allow patients and families to focus on treatment and healing, which is all that matters.”
Carlson graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 2013, and began her career as a medical radiographer. She then completed the radiation therapy program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in radiation science. After continued on-the-job training, she earned her computed tomography certification.
She has experience managing the radiology and laboratory departments in cancer treatment centers, critical access hospitals, and the East Central District Health Department.
“Ashley is a great fit for Columbus Cancer Care,” said Keith Luedders, vice president of ancillary services at CCH. “Her background in radiation therapy and her demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians makes an already excellent facility even better.”
Carlson lives on a farm near Genoa with her husband and two children. She said she is grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to continuing in the oncology field with a strong passion and interest.
“I feel blessed for this exciting opportunity to join the cancer care team at Columbus Community Hospital,” Carlson said. “(Radiation oncologist Dr. Joan Keit) and her extraordinary team has served our community for more than 10 years, providing exceptional care and expertise for those undergoing cancer treatments. As practice manager of Columbus Cancer Care, I look forward to continued growth and development.”
