Four children rescued after falling into water

Four children between the ages of eight and 13 were hospitalized after falling into a body of water in Schuyler Tuesday afternoon.

SCHUYLER — Four children between the ages of eight and 13 were hospitalized after falling into a body of water in Schuyler Tuesday afternoon.

According to Colfax County Attorney and Sheriff's spokesperson Denise Kracl, two children fell into the water in a Schuyler park shortly before 5:00 p.m., with two more falling in while trying to rescue them.

Schuyler Police and the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, with Assistant Fire Chief Matt Prochaska and two police officers pulling the children out, according to Kracl. All four children were taken to a hospital in Schuyler, with none of them facing life-threatening injuries.

According to the Schuyler Police Department, all four children were reported to be in stable condition, with treatment centered around their low core temperatures.
