Man injured in tractor vs semi crash near Genoa

GENOA, Neb. -- One person is in serious condition after a tractor accident in Nebraska.
The Nance County Sheriff's Office said a deputy and rescue crews were called to a two vehicle accident on Highway 39 just north of Genoa on Monday around 4:00 p.m.
A tractor was northbound on Highway 39 when it was hit from behind by a northbound semi.
Nebraska State Patrol Public Relations Director Cody Thomas said the side of the semi struck the rear tire of the tractor causing the tractor to roll into the east ditch. Thomas also said that the semi came to a stop in the west ditch.
The driver, a 59-year-old Genoa man, of the tractor was taken to Genoa Community Hospital, and was then transported by Medical Helicopter. Thomas said that he is currently in stable condition.
The driver, a 42-year-old Saint Edward man, of the semi was treated and released.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
