Fire crews put out Bobcat blaze in field near Richland

Authorities in Colfax County spent roughly an hour putting out a fire in a farm field Tuesday afternoon.

RICHLAND, Neb. -- Authorities in Colfax County spent roughly an hour putting out a fire in a farm field Tuesday afternoon.

Schuyler Fire and Rescue and the Colfax County Sheriff's Department were called to the scene at approximately 1:18 p.m. for a report of a Bobcat vehicle on fire a half mile north of Richland, according to Colfax County Attorney Denise Kracl.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze within an hour of arriving.

Richland is located approximately nine miles east of Columbus.
