A Grand Jury has been called in Dodge County to investigate the shooting death of a Fremont man.

The shooting happened last May when police say Aaron Schneider was threatening to harm himself.

During the negotiations, Fremont Police say he left the home with a firearm, shot it once, and was then shot multiple times by officers.

Schneider was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No officers were hurt during the incident.

In Nebraska, a Grand Jury must be called when someone has died while being apprehended by or while in the custody of law enforcement.

Following the investigation of a grand jury, members will decide if charges should be filed in the case.
