ALBION, Neb. -- A Missouri woman has died after a crash in northeast Nebraska on Thursday.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says it received a report of a one-vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway 56 and 340th St. just before 11 a.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, a deputy found a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had died from injuries sustained from the accident. The driver was identified as Sandra Daniels of Springfield, Missouri.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the accident occurred approximately two miles east of Cedar Rapids on Highway 56. The sheriff's office says the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle on the roadway and entered the north ditch.
