Grand Island man riding motorized bicycle dies in crash

A central Nebraska man is dead after a crash over Labor Day weekend.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A Grand Island man is dead after a crash over Labor Day weekend.

Grand Island Police say they were called around midnight on Monday at the intersection of Highway 281 and Faidley Avenue.

Authorities say 60-year-old Leroy Voight was driving a motorized bicycle, crossed Highway 281 and ran red light. They say he then hit a U-Haul near the intersection.

Officials say Voight was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
